ELITE: An Intelligent Digital Twin-Based Hierarchical Routing Scheme for Softwarized Vehicular Networks

Liang Zhao, Zhenguo Bi, Ammar Hawbani, Keping Yu, Yan Zhang, Mohsen Guizani

Summary: Intelligent Digital Twin-based Software-Defined Vehicular Networks (IDT-SDVN) overcome the weaknesses of traditional SDVN architecture and maximize its advantages by constructing virtual network spaces and providing virtual instances of corresponding physical objects within the Digital Twin (DT). In this paper, a junction-based hierarchical routing scheme called ELITE is proposed, which consists of four phases: policy training and generation, deployment, and relay selection. Simulation results show that ELITE achieves significant improvements in packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay, and communication overhead compared to its counterparts.
