Summary: The role of institutional quality in the effect of renewable energy on economic growth in sub-Saharan African countries has been examined. The study found that when the institutional quality index is above a certain threshold, the contribution of renewable energy to economic growth is significantly amplified. Therefore, improving overall institutional quality can greatly increase the impact of renewable energy on economic growth in the region.

Summary: Feeling safe is crucial for cyclists and can deter potential cyclists from using bicycles. This study proposes two scores, RG Score and FMB Score, to predict subjective safety from objective environmental information. The scores were validated by comparing them to questionnaire ratings and crash statistics. The findings highlight the importance of subjective safety as an independent construct and provide insights into aspects that can be easily measured and aspects that need further consideration.

Summary: The creation and design of intervention for street experimentation is a key challenge in sustainable urban mobility. This study proposes the use of a virtual urban living lab (VULL) to bridge the gap between stakeholders and the community in the street experimentation process. Preliminary findings suggest that virtual platforms can effectively facilitate stakeholder and community participation, and test new solutions to urban mobility and public space issues.

Summary: This article demonstrates how a socio-material perspective can enhance the integration of life cycle assessment (LCA) within inter-firm networks. It presents a comparative LCA of two circular product systems in an Italian canteen and utilizes Actor Network Theory (ANT) to contextualize the assessment. The ANT complements LCA by providing additional information and discussing the potential of LCA in guiding sustainable production and consumption patterns.

Summary: This paper analyzes how citizens value five SE parklets and plazas in three neighborhoods of London, Munich, and Bologna, and finds that citizens value the public life dimensions of SE more highly than SE benefits for active mobility. The results can inform the design of more effective and inclusive SE interventions.

Summary: This paper aims to explore how street experiments can be used to promote gendered mobilities and create streetscapes that prioritize the needs of women in accessing public transport. By creating more inclusive and accessible streets through participatory planning and design processes, women can have greater opportunities to participate in and benefit from public transport.

Summary: This study examines the sustainability factors of the world's most visited destinations using clustering and multiple regression analysis. The results show high heterogeneity in terms of sustainability, with destinations divided into four clusters. Unsustainable factors include the industry and construction sector, social insecurity, inflation, and transport services development. Renewable energy consumption is found to be sustainable, while economic growth, education, and tourism indicators have contradictory effects. These findings have decision-making implications at all levels and can help shape tourism development policies that are balanced with structural policies such as energy and environment.

Summary: In recent years, the concept of proximity has gained attention, particularly the 15-minute city model which enables citizens to easily access essential services within a short walk or bike ride. This model offers various benefits including reduced traffic, improved health and safety, economic enhancement, and better accessibility. However, transitioning to a 15-minute city requires data-driven assessments. The NExt proXimity Index (NEXI) presented in this paper is designed to measure the level of local proximity to services based on open data. The index can be used globally and locally, providing an interactive map for visualizing the results. It is scalable and has been applied to Italy, and can be combined with additional local data for further insights.

Summary: This paper discusses the revolutionary evolution and innovation in transportation systems. By analyzing human history, six transportation revolutions and several evolutions have been identified. Currently, transportation systems are undergoing a seventh revolution, driven by innovations in energy, connected and autonomous vehicles, and smart mobility services. These changes have different impacts on environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Future research should focus on holistic deployment and anticipate the trajectory of the revolution to reduce undesirable impacts.

Summary: Suburbanization and suburban sprawl are natural processes in the development of cities and their surrounding areas. While it can have negative impacts on the environment, if done in a compact and separated manner based on existing villages and with high population density in poorer areas, the impacts can be relatively small and acceptable.

Summary: This paper explores the impact of cultural proximity on interregional industrial linkages in China. The findings indicate that cultural distance hinders horizontal industrial linkages between regions, but does not restrict the formation of vertical industrial linkages. Cultural proximity primarily affects interregional industrial cooperation strategies through knowledge diffusion rather than transaction costs. Cultural proximity facilitates the formation of transregional social networks and enhances the understanding of localized tacit knowledge, giving culturally similar regions a comparative advantage in forming horizontal industrial linkages.

Summary: The destructive impacts of climate change on pastoralists' livelihoods require appropriate adaptation strategies to reduce their vulnerability. A study conducted with Iranian pastoralists revealed their vulnerability in terms of high-risk exposure and low adaptive capacity. By making accurate decisions on adopting suitable adaptation strategies, livelihood vulnerability can be reduced.

Summary: This paper investigates how dominant representations and classifications of settlement types are produced through overlapping political, media, and academic discourses, using the example of the "post-industrial town." It explores the emergence of the "post-industrial town" as a territorial production, arguing that discursive and socio-technical practices shape its symbolic imaginaries. The paper highlights the dominant symbolic production of an older, white, working-class, non-cosmopolitan, and socially conservative type of settlement, as well as the misrepresentation and misrecognition of actual places in political strategizing and discourse.
