Summary: This study investigates the scattering of elastic waves by an anisotropic sphere with orthorhombic symmetry inside an isotropic medium, and applies it to the characterization of polycrystalline materials with anisotropic grains. The expansion coefficients of the wave and displacement field are determined inside the sphere using recursion relations and boundary conditions. The T matrix elements are then obtained and used to analyze the attenuation and phase velocity of polycrystalline materials, particularly at low frequencies. The proposed approach shows good agreement with previous results and finite element method for strongly anisotropic materials.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the treatment response in HCC patients treated with SBRT using radiomics features extracted from 1.5T MRI. The results showed that the logistic regression-based model achieved high predictive capacity, and radiomics features extracted during MRgSBRT could predict tumor treatment response.

Summary: This study aims to analyze the probability distribution functions of the maximum value of skew-Brownian motion and the stock price process driven by the maximum value of skew-Brownian motion. It also aims to derive pricing formulas for European style call options, based on the maximum value of skew-Brownian motion and the stock price process driven by it. The developed formulas are applied to price binary (Cash or Nothing) options.

Summary: In this study, a novel method is proposed to monitor fatigue damage in welded joints by computing the energy density in the diffuse ultrasonic signal. The results indicate that the correlation coefficient of the energy density exhibits a significant decreasing trend when crack initiation occurs, providing a unique signal to indicate crack initiation in welded joints.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of modelling infill walls as a strut element on the building behavior of a reinforced concrete frame building. The results show that this modeling approach significantly increases the building's stiffness and is more effective in reducing lateral displacement. This has important implications for improving the seismic performance of reinforced concrete frame buildings.

Summary: This paper investigates the interaction between double porosity distributed cylindrical bodies and the surrounding fluid using a generalized self consistent method. The study reveals that there is a correlation between the propagating waves and the effective quantities at low frequencies, which is influenced by the volume fraction of scatterers and the porosity.

Summary: In this article, the authors propose a strategy using the coupling of the boundary integral equation method (BIEM) and the finite element method (FEM) to overcome the computational burden involved in compensating for aberrated ultrasound waves caused by the skull. They conducted simulation experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method and found that it guarantees convergence and achieves more accurate transcranial focusing compared to noncorrected results. The proposed strategy is valuable for enabling online ultrasound simulations during treatment, facilitating real-time adjustments and interventions.

Summary: In this study, a method for automatically determining bounding boxes and lumen segmentation using a Mask R-CNN network trained on sonographer assisted groundtruth carotid lumen segmentations is presented. This method is of great importance for analyzing ultrasound images that require time and labor, and it also lays the foundation for developing accurate plaque segmentation and wall thickness measurement methods.

Summary: This article presents the solution to guided wave fields in a double-layer plate and proposes a nonlinear spring-interface model for the bonding between the two sublayers. The study finds that the nonlinearity of the spring-interface can generate resonant guided waves in the double-layer plate, providing a theoretical foundation for the development of nondestructive evaluation techniques using nonlinear guided waves.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of patch source geometric parameters on the depth dose distribution in skin tissue through Monte Carlo simulation. The results showed that increasing the source-to-skin distance, patch thickness, and patch diameter will reduce the depth dose distribution, with the source-to-skin distance having the most significant impact on dose gradient.

Summary: Vasculopathy is a significant consequence of various infections, and early recognition is essential as many of these diseases have poor outcomes if left untreated. Neuroimaging techniques such as MRI, CTA, and MRA can be used to visualize the complications associated with infectious vasculopathy, while high-resolution intracranial vessel wall imaging can directly assess the presence of vasculitis.
