Summary: An atom-economic one-step chain-growth coordination homopolymerization providing high yields of functionalized hyper-cross-linked polyacetylenes with a permanent micro/mesoporous texture and a BET area of up to 1062 m2/g is reported. The homopolymerization is highly compatible with the heteroatom groups of the monomers and allows the preparation of well-defined porous networks with a wide spectrum of univalent groups.

Summary: A novel stainless-steel supported lattice-mismatched V-S-Se layered compound with high selenium vacancy was synthesized by adjusting the molar ratio of sulfur to selenium. The introduction of selenium vacancies created additional redox peaks of sulfur, providing more mass transport channels and active sites for zinc ions. The specific capacity and cycle stability of the electrode were significantly improved, demonstrating great potential for practical applications and providing insights into the effects of defects on battery performance.

Summary: Compared with vein injection, oral administration is a preferred non-invasive and self-help treatment option for cancer therapy. However, the harsh gastrointestinal tract and biological barriers limit the stability and efficiency of oral drug delivery systems. To overcome these challenges, researchers have developed Cyssome, a drug delivery platform that can maintain stability in harsh environments, penetrate biological barriers, and improve drug release and bioavailability.

Summary: This study attempts to address the gap in cooling rates between thin film deposition and bulk metallic glass (BMG) casting by correlating the glass-forming range (GFR) determined from combinatorial materials chips (CMCs) with the glass-forming ability (GFA) of BMG. The results show that the full-width at half maximum (FWHM) of the first sharp diffraction peak (FSDP) is a good indicator of BMG GFA, and strong positive correlations between FWHM and the critical casting diameter (Dmax) are observed in various BMG systems. Furthermore, the Pearson correlation coefficients suggest possible similarities in the GFA natures of certain BMG pairs.

Summary: Even small changes in physicochemical properties of nanoforms (NFs) can influence their environmental fate and hazard. Testing and characterizing each individual NF will not be feasible due to the large number of new materials being developed. Targeting the most relevant form of the NF for a given exposure is important for efficient risk assessment. In aquatic systems, functional fate processes play a key role in determining the exposure relevant form of NFs. Grouping of NFs and read-across based on functional fate pathways can be justified by considering the shared fate and hazard profile. A new Integrated Approaches to Testing and Assessment (IATA) is presented, focusing on dissolution, dispersion stability, chemical transformations, and the contribution to toxicity from particles and dissolved components. This IATA can be used as a template for future in vivo kinetic assessments.

Summary: The surface environment of nanotwin boundary (NTB) plays a crucial role in the electrocatalysis of CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR). The Cu NTB-(111) surface shows more relaxed structural fields and higher adsorption capacity for CO compared to Cu (111) surface. Additionally, the CO dimerization on the summit position of NTB exhibits a synergistic effect on the C-C coupling pathways and C2 product formation.

Summary: Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) aims to establish smart and informative interactions between humans and devices. However, common pixelated sensing arrays in AIoT applications present problems such as hard and brittle devices, complex structures, and low precision. This article introduces an innovative solution called the all-in-one intelligent semitransparent interactive nerve patch (AISI nerve patch), which integrates sensing, recognition, and transmission functionalities into a thin and flexible patch. The AISI nerve patch is semitransparent, allowing for accurate identification without affecting aesthetics, and it can be attached to any curved surface for intelligent and interactive applications. With rapid response time and high precision recognition, it enables the integration of artificial intelligence and achieves high recognition accuracy for further development of AIoT.
