Angelica sinensis polysaccharides alleviate the oxidative burden on hematopoietic cells by restoring 5-fluorouracil-induced oxidative damage in perivascular mesenchymal progenitor cells

Yilin Niu, Hanxianzhi Xiao, Biyao Wang, Ziling Wang, Kunhang Du, Yaping Wang, Lu Wang

Summary: This study investigated the protective antioxidative effects of Angelica sinensis polysaccharide (ASP) on perivascular mesenchymal progenitors (PMPs) and their interactions with hematopoietic cells. The results showed that ASP improved the oxidative balance in PMPs, promoted osteogenic differentiation, and increased the expression of key genes. Additionally, the ASP-treated feeder layer alleviated senescence of hematopoietic cells and delayed premature senescence of 5-FU-treated cells by down-regulating Wnt/beta-catenin signaling. These findings provide a new strategy for alleviating myelosuppressive stress.

Summary: This study investigates the preventive effects of Thai Mucuna pruriens (T-MP) seed extract against seminal vesicle damage, apoptotic and Nrf2 protein expression in mice under chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS). The results show that T-MP extract can improve seminal epithelial damage and secretion of fluid containing essential substances and proteins in CUMS mice, increase the expression of AR and TyrPho proteins, inhibit seminal vesicular apoptosis through the suppression of Hsp70 and caspase expression, and increase Nrf2 expression. This study demonstrates that T-MP seeds have antiapoptotic properties and can be used to enhance seminal plasma quality.
