Jun-Jie Tseng, Ching Sing Chai, Lynde Tan, Moonyoung Park

Summary: Research on TPACK has been thriving in recent years. This review study fills the research gap by specifically focusing on language teachers' knowledge about language teaching with technology. The analysis of 51 identified studies published from 2011 to 2019 reveals the trends and issues in TPACK research in language teaching. The study findings suggest variations in teachers' confidence in their TPACK competence, with the dominant use of technology in traditional teacher-centered teaching. Effective interventions involve language teachers' understanding of the TPACK framework, modeling, and collaborative lesson design. TPACK-informed language learning courses and platforms are perceived to be helpful and effective.
