Summary: The study explores how ethnic identity politics influence journalists' perception of their roles in the contemporary Ethiopian media landscape. Drawing on the analytical model of journalism culture and social identity theory, qualitative interviews were conducted with journalists from six media channels and media scholars. The findings suggest that the country's ethno-political context shapes the media environment, which in turn affects how journalists perceive their roles. The most notable institutional role perceptions in the current Ethiopian media system are promoting ethno-centric identity and culture, advocating for ethnic communities, mainstreaming regional politics and hegemony, and considering themselves as agents of change.

Summary: The study explores the spatial politics of ornamental masculinity in Nigerian movies and its contribution to a gender-harming culture. Using creative content and language, the research examines the complex realities of narrative experiences and the evolution of patriarchal norms in a conservative space. Findings from visual research and dramaturgical analysis of three Nigerian movies reveal how privileged male protagonists promote social change. The study establishes a link between creative performance, masculinity, and the perpetuation of a dominant gender through a language of discourse that negatively portrays women while projecting masculinity as a shield.

Summary: Tourism is a significant industry that impacts human life, where the interaction between culture and tourism can have both positive and negative outcomes. The impact of tourism on culture has become a popular topic among scholars, as it can either enhance cultural diversity or lead to the destruction of destination communities' cultures. This study focuses on understanding communities' perceptions of the negative cultural impact of tourism. The findings indicate that tourism has led to the commoditization of society's culture, erosion of local communities' socio-cultural assets, and the production of inauthentic products, emphasizing the need for responsible stakeholders to minimize negative impacts.
