Zhan-Ke Li, Chang Wang, Zhen-Qiang Wang, Kai -Wen Li, Jun-Jie Zhou, Xiao-Ming Li, Jia Hu, Jun Zhang

Summary: The Nannihu ore field in the southern North China Craton is home to a variety of valuable mineral resources, including Mo, W, Zn, Pb, Cu, and Ag. Through a comprehensive geological, geochronological, and pyrite geochemical study, researchers have uncovered the relationships between different types of deposits in the area. The findings reveal a giant magmatic-hydrothermal metallogenic system, with zonation of porphyry, skarn, and epithermal mineralization. The multi-episode magmatism and mineralization have led to the significant enrichment of mineral resources in the Nannihu ore field.

Structural controls on formation of the Xiayu vein-hosted Ag-Pb-Zn-Au orefield during intracontinental extension along the southern margin of the North China Craton

Xuan Wang, Jingwen Mao, Changqing Zhang, Da Zhang, Xinming Zhang, Yongfei Tian, Wei Jian, Mingjian Yang, Songyan Liu, Wenjie Li, Wensheng Shi, Zhenxu Liu

Summary: The Xiayu Ag-Pb-Zn-Au deposit in the southern North China Craton has been studied to understand the connection between extensional faults and vein-hosted mineralization. New structural data and fault-slip data analysis were used to determine that the region experienced two discrete stress fields, leading to the formation of fault-fill veins (stage I) and extensional veins (stage II). These veins are believed to have formed during regional extension in different directions.

Lithium isotopic systematics and numerical simulation for highly-fractionated granite-pegmatite system: Implications for the pegmatite-type rare-metal mineralization

Xiang-Ying Ye, Bin Li, Xiao-Dong Chen, Jing Lei, An-Huai Lu, Lei Zhao, Xing Li, Dong-Bo Tana, Yilin Xiao

Summary: This study investigates the geochemistry and Li isotopes of the Renli-Chuanziyuan lithium-niobium-tantalum deposit in China's Mufushan batholith, finding that magmatic volatile phase (MVP) exsolution is related to pegmatite formation and MVP migration plays a role in the different Li isotopic compositions of pegmatites. The results suggest that MVP exsolution, migration, and accumulation are key factors in rare metal mineralization.

Barremian to Aptian Os isotopic record of a pelagic deep-sea chert (Goshikinohama-bedded chert) in a Japanese accretionary complex

Hironao Matsumoto, Junichiro Kuroda, Rie S. Hori, Katsuhiko Suzuki

Summary: The early Aptian oceanic anoxic event (OAE) 1a is a significant event in the Cretaceous period, and the causal link between the organic-rich sediments and the Ontong Java Nui basalts has been debated. The Goshikinohama-bedded chert, a sedimentary sequence in the deep pelagic Pacific, provides insights into the OAE1a interval. The 187Os/188Os record of the Goshikinohama-bedded chert shows shifts to unradiogenic values, indicating a potential correlation with OAEs.

Boron isotope constraints on the migration and accumulation of rare alkali metals in the geyserite cesium deposits in Southern Tibet

Yin-Chuan Li, Hai-Zhen Wei, Martin R. Palmer, Yi-Jing Wang, Wei Li, Yue Cai, Yuan-Feng Zhu, Jun-Lin Wang, Jian-Jun Lu

Summary: Geothermal waters in the Shiquanhe-Yarlun Zangbo geothermal field in southern Tibet have a unique Cs-deposit formed by the enrichment of rare alkali metals (RAMs). The study investigates the migration and accumulation of RAMs in the geothermal system reservoir by analyzing boron isotopes, leucogranite, geothermal springs, and geyserite. The findings suggest that RAMs enrichment occurs during the partial melting of crustal materials and is further promoted by intense water-rock interaction at high temperatures in the geothermal system. The research also shows that a strong adsorption process controls the hyper enrichment of RAMs in geyserites.

Origin of the Early Cretaceous Be mineralization in the Tongbai-Dabie orogen, central China

Lu Zhang, Hui-Min Su, Shao-Yong Jiang, Rolf L. Romer, Song Chen, Jialin Xu

Summary: The Niangniangding Be deposit is a Be-only deposit located in the Tongbai-Dabie orogen. The Be mineralization is mainly hosted in albitized granite in the contact zone between biotite monzogranite and metasedimentary rocks, with Genthelvite as the major carrier of Be. The study suggests that the ore-forming fluids and metals may come from non-exposed Cretaceous intrusions and metasedimentary wall rocks.
