Dandelion Optimizer: A nature-inspired metaheuristic algorithm for engineering applications

Summary: This paper introduces the issues and shortcomings of Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) and proposes an improved version called Multi-Stage Grey Wolf Optimizer (MGWO). By dividing the search process into three stages and using different population updating strategies, MGWO improves optimization ability while maintaining a certain convergence speed. It has a better balance of exploration and exploitation, can avoid getting trapped in local optima, and obtains higher-quality solutions.

A polypyrrole/GO/ZnO nanocomposite modified pencil graphite electrode for the determination of andrographolide in aqueous samples

Summary: A novel electrochemical sensor based on a PGE modified with molecularly imprinted graphene oxide/zinc oxide nanocomposites was presented for sensitive detection of andrographolide. The modified PGE showed good linear response and repeatability for andrographolide detection under optimized conditions, demonstrating excellent selectivity in the presence of interfering substances. The proposed method was successfully applied to determine andrographolide in real water samples with comparable results to the established method.

Predicting compressive strength of manufactured-sand concrete using conventional and metaheuristic-tuned artificial neural network

Two improved ANN models are developed using conventional algorithms and metaheuristic algorithms, respectively, and it is found that the improved models have higher accuracy.
