Summary: This paper proposes an integrative numerical control (NC) code generation method for fabricating randomly distributed V grooves on the great circles of a spherical surface. It also analyzes the singular movements in five-axis milling and proposes a general postprocessing algorithm to solve the singularity problem. Furthermore, a two-point calibration method is proposed to accurately determine the position of the tool virtual center. The proposed methods enable the high-precision milling of random micro-structures on a spherical surface.

Summary: In this study, an amino-rich polyphosphazonitrile microsphere was synthesized to regulate the synthesis of melamine cyanurate for the design of flame retardant epoxy resin. The combination of hydrogen bond self-assembly and in-situ dispersion strategies resulted in excellent flame retardant performance with minimal addition of the microsphere, while maintaining superior mechanical properties.

Summary: This study investigates the size effect in SiCp/Al during conventional cutting and ultrasonic elliptical vibration-assisted cutting using diamond tools. The impact of tool-workpiece contact states on cutting behavior and surface finish is evaluated. Ultrasonic elliptical vibration-assisted diamond turning achieves improved surface quality and suppressed tool wear. The compensation effect of the vibration leads to decreased brittle fracture and improved surface integrity.

Summary: In this paper, a simple and effective internal model control (IMC) system is proposed to attenuate thrust ripples in ultraprecision air-bearing linear feed systems, based on a modified modeling and identification method of permanent magnet linear synchronous motors (PMLSMs). The performance of the proposed method in overcoming nonlinearity and achieving smooth velocities in steady states is demonstrated through analysis and experiments.

Summary: A novel three-dimensional thermo-hydraulic coupling model was developed to simulate surface formation in electrical discharge machining (EDM). The model considered the melt flow induced surface deformation, temperature-dependent material properties, phase changes, and practical forces on melt pools. Simulation results demonstrated the radial melt flow during single-pulse discharge and the formation of surface peaks during multiple discharges. The proposed model provided accurate measurements of crater diameter, surface roughness, and recast layer thickness.

Summary: This paper proposes a comprehensive model for predicting the cutting depth and contact area in nanoscratching. The model takes into account the geometric shape of the indenter and elastic recovery, reducing prediction errors. The study also analyzes the influence of the indenter geometry on the contact area, with the face angle of the pyramid identified as a key factor.

Summary: This paper presents a new mathematical formulation for planning and scheduling activities of Engineer-To-Order (ETO) projects, along with a new ETO strategy to reduce the impacts of design uncertainty. The study proposes a hybrid Layered Genetic Algorithm combined with an adaptive Lamarckian learning process (LLGA) and compares it with the branch-and-cut procedure of CPLEX. The results show good performance of the proposed mathematical model for small and medium-sized instances.

Summary: This study comprehensively investigates the effect of different surface determination methods on bi-directional length measurements. The results show that Canny and VGStudio methods can lead to errors in certain conditions, while the MCW method avoids this issue and demonstrates its automation capability. With voxel calibration, beam hardening correction, and data manipulation, both MCW and Canny algorithms enable accurate measurements comparable to an industrial tactile coordinate measuring machine.

Summary: This paper studies the electromechanical behavior of elliptical APAs by analyzing the multi-domain dynamics of piezoelectric stacks and compliant mechanisms using a novel electro-mechanical transfer matrix method. An analytical electro-elasto transfer matrix of piezoelectric stacks operating at the d33 mode is derived in the form of Taylor's series. The dynamic response spectrum of displacement and impedance for elliptical APAs is accurately captured by this electro-mechanical model, and different topologies of elliptical APAs are compared to suggest the optimal configuration.

Summary: The One-Warehouse Multi-Retailer (OWMR) system is a typical distribution and inventory system. Previous research has focused on heuristic reordering and allocation strategies, which are time-consuming and problem-specific. This paper proposes a Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) algorithm for OWMR problems, which infers a multi-discrete action distribution and improves performance with a random rationing policy.
