Summary: This systematic review aims to evaluate the performance of artificial intelligence models in various prosthodontic applications, including tooth shade selection, automation of restoration design, mapping the finishing line of tooth preparations, optimizing manufacturing casting, predicting facial changes in patients with removable prostheses, and designing removable partial dentures. While these models have shown potential, further development and assessment of their clinical performance are needed.

Summary: Peri-implant soft tissue dehiscence (PSTD) is common in the esthetic zone. Risk indicators for this condition include the presence of an adjacent implant, longer time in function of the implant, higher buccal bone distance (BBD), lower keratinized mucosa width (KMW), and reduced mucosal thickness (MT).

Summary: This cohort study found that patients with JIA have a significantly increased risk of developing OSA compared to matched controls. Risk of developing OSA was particularly high among patients with JIA-associated deformity aged 18-30 and males. The risk of OSA increased over 60 months after JIA diagnosis.

Summary: This study evaluated pain control in patients with temporomandibular disorder treated with oral NSAIDs, showing that all patients experienced improvement in pain after treatment. Further investigations are needed to confirm the effectiveness of NSAIDs for controlling joint and muscle pain in TMD patients.

Summary: This study reviewed 18 clinical studies on the accuracy of implant computer-guided surgery in partially edentulous patients, and found that the edentulous space type, surgical guide manufacturing procedure, and guided surgery protocol can influence accuracy. The results showed that higher accuracy was achieved when implants were placed in BES with CAD/CAM manufactured surgical guides and using a fully guided surgery protocol.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the flexural properties and adhesion of Lactobacillus salivarius, Streptococcus mutans, and Candida albicans on different types of Poly (methylmethacrylate) (PMMA). The results showed that the CAD group had the best flexural properties and the least bacterial adhesion after 90 minutes of incubation.

Summary: This systematic review examined the accuracy of digital implant impressions in clinical studies. Eight publications met the criteria and showed that the accuracy of digital implant impressions in patients was clinically acceptable but varied in terms of deviation. However, the number of clinical studies was limited, and the impact of different factors on accuracy could not be determined.

Summary: The study aimed to measure radiographic alveolar bone level using a deep convolutional neural network for periodontal diagnosis. A deep learning model integrating segmentation networks and image analysis was developed to provide reliable RBL measurements and image-based diagnosis. However, further optimization and validation with a larger number of images are needed for the model's application.

Summary: Microenvironmental biophysical factors play a crucial role in controlling cell behaviors, and cells can actively sense and adapt to the surrounding mechanical microenvironment. This study investigates the cytoskeleton re-organization in chondrocytes in response to changes in substrate stiffness using silicon-based elastomer polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrates.

Summary: Numerous epidemiological studies suggest a link between oral health and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Recent studies indicate a relationship between the severity of periodontal disease and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Two virulence mechanisms are proposed: direct invasion of oral microorganisms or their components into the fetal-placenta unit and inflammatory mediators produced in the oral cavity affecting the fetal-placenta unit. While interventional periodontal therapy still yields contradictory results, animal studies suggest that maternal supplementation of omega-3 fatty acids protects the fetus by suppressing inflammation and bacteria proliferation in the placenta.

Summary: The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effect of ambient light illuminance on the accuracy and scanning time of different intraoral scanners (IOSs) in complete-arch implant scans. The results showed significant differences in scanning accuracy and time among different IOSs under varying lighting conditions. It is necessary to optimize the ambient light illuminance for each IOS in order to maximize scanning accuracy.

Summary: The study evaluated the clinical effectiveness of clear aligner treatment (CAT). The findings showed that CAT is effective for mild to moderate malocclusions but less effective for severe cases or specific tooth movements. There were conflicting results regarding treatment duration, but CAT may lead to shorter treatment in mild to moderate cases. CAT had a higher risk of relapse but better periodontal health. The risk of root resorption tended to be lower with CAT.
