Summary: Sirtuins, particularly SIRT1, SIRT2, and SIRT3, play various roles in oral cancer. SIRT1 is reported to act as a tumor suppressor, while SIRT2's role remains unclear in oral cancer. SIRT3 expression is positively correlated with oral malignancies.

Summary: The study found that patients with periodontitis and periodontitis + type-II DM had higher NLRP3 concentrations in serum and saliva compared to healthy controls and type-II DM patients. Periodontitis was identified as a significant predictor of both serum and salivary NLRP3 concentrations.

Summary: Oral bacteria directly influence dental caries and periodontal diseases, and the dynamic oral microbiota reflects immune and metabolic information and status through communication between the oral cavity and systemic organs. The oral cavity acts as an important interaction window between the human body and the environment, and the microbial composition in different sites is regulated by complex signaling, hosts, and external environmental factors.

Summary: Periodontitis is linked with various other diseases, potentially with a causal relationship. Interventional studies and preclinical models support the connection between periodontitis and comorbidities, providing mechanistic insights. Advances in understanding the periodontitis-systemic disease connection may lead to innovative therapeutic options for reducing the risk of periodontitis-linked comorbidities.

Summary: The etiology of molar incisor hypomineralisation (MIH) remains unknown, with peri- and postnatal factors appearing to have a greater impact on the risk of developing the condition. Genetic factors also play a significant role in the development of MIH.

Summary: MIH has a multifactorial etiology with the duration, strength and timing of occurrence of the etiological factors being responsible for the variable clinical characteristics of the defect. There are various treatment options available, and the appropriate choice depends on the severity of the defect and the age of the patient.

Summary: Periodontitis and osteoporosis are inflammation-associated skeletal disorders prevalent in the aging population. Systemic low bone mineral density is correlated with alveolar bone loss and inflammation plays a critical role in bone remodeling in both conditions. Shared risk factors such as vitamin D deficiency and smoking may mediate the connection between osteoporosis and periodontitis.

Summary: Dental implants have become the preferred option for prosthetic rehabilitation, but patient perceptions of oral health-related quality of life do not show overall superiority compared to conventional prosthetics. Patient expectations significantly affect treatment outcomes, and reconstructions supported by implants improve stability and function. However, there are discrepancies between patients' and clinicians' evaluations, especially in esthetic outcomes.

Summary: Dental caries is a chronic oral disease that poses a significant threat to human health. Despite efforts by dentists and researchers, the prevalence of dental caries remains high. Establishing a clinical difficulty assessment system for caries prevention and management based on diagnosis and classification is crucial. Dentists should conduct oral examinations and create dental records during each visit. Personalized treatment plans, based on caries risk assessment and lesion activity, are necessary to restore oral microecological balance, control caries progression, and restore the structure and function of the affected teeth. Follow-up visits should be conducted based on personalized caries management. This expert consensus focuses on caries risk assessment, treatment difficulty assessment, and dental caries treatment plans, which are essential components of caries management throughout the life cycle.

Summary: This study conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to determine the overall prevalence of cleft palate, lip, and cleft lip and palate. The findings revealed a high prevalence of these oral clefts among infants. Health system policymakers need to implement measures to reduce the number of patients and mitigate the impact on children through preventive and therapeutic measures.

Summary: Apical periodontitis is an inflammatory disease caused by microbes, with bacteria being the most prevalent in endodontic infections. Bacterial infection in the root canal system is associated with necrotic pulp or previous treatment. Different types of apical periodontitis show varying microbial compositions, with bacterial interactions influencing the overall virulence of the community.
