In this study, a gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method in EI mode is developed for the analysis of dried Korean ginger. Hydrodistillation-headspace solvent microextraction with polar and non-polar solvents is used. Forty-nine compounds are separated and identified. The major compounds in the rhizome identified are alpha-zingiberene, curcumene, camphene, beta-phellandrene, (E)-citral, alpha-farnesene, beta-bisabolene, beta-sesquiphellandrene, zingerone, and [6]-gingerol.
