Incompressible viscous turbulent flow over a ribbed wall executing harmonic oscillations in the spanwise direction is numerically investigated. It is shown that the joint effect of the longitudinal ribbing and the spanwise oscillations can be considerably greater than the effects of any of the two techniques of controlling turbulent flow taken separately.
