Microwave dielectric properties of the lithium contained ceramics with rock salt structure including LiFeO2, Li2ZrO3, Li3NbO4, Li2TiO3, and Li3Mg2NbO6 and Li3Zn2SbO6 have been investigated for the first time in this paper. It was found that all samples posses the dielectric constant in the range from 10 to 25. The Q x f value increases in the sequence of LiFeO2, Li2ZrO3, Li3Zn2SbO6, Li3NbO4, Li2TiO3 and Li3Mg2NbO6. All samples exhibit negative value of temperature coefficient of resonant frequency except for Li2TiO3. Excellent microwave dielectric properties were obtained for Li3Mg2NbO6: epsilon(r) 16.8, Q x f = 79643GHz, tau(f) = 27.2ppm/degrees C.
