Recently, Cd(OH)(2) nanomaterials have attracted attention because of their distinct properties. Cd(OH)(2) nanostructures with different morphologies have been successfully synthesized and used in various fields. In this paper, the preparation of Cd(OH)(2) nanomaterials is reviewed including hydrothermal, solvothermal, wet chemical, refluxing, microwave-assisted methods, and their applications are briefly introduced in hydrophobic and hydrophilic materials, adsorption of negative organic molecules, sensors, and electrode materials. The development trend and prospects of the preparation of nano Cd(OH)(2) are proposed.
