Joint kinematic and thermal full field measurement provides rich and relevant information on the thermomechanical properties of materials. A new experimental method is proposed to measure both these fields simultaneously. Although solely based on images captured with a unique infrared camera, it affords both kinematic and thermal fields. It consists of an enriched global Digital Image Correlation technique, where the variation of optical flow due to the local displacement and the change of temperature are jointly evaluated through a decomposition over a finite element mesh. After an a priori evaluation of the performance of the method on synthetic cases, a first experimental application to a Shape Memory Alloy specimen under tension is done. It is shown that the method is able to capture localized transformation bands which are a few pixel wide.
