The amino-functionalization of tertiary, secondary and benzylic C-H bonds of tethered carbamates and sulfamates by iodosobenzene is catalyzed by Cu-I-diimine complexes in moderate to good yield. Employing homochiral imine-Cu catalysts affords oxazolidinones and oxathiazinanes with modest enantioselectivity.
