Low-power silicon thermo-optic switch with folded waveguide arms and suspended ridge structures

Proposed is a low-power switch with a folded waveguide arms layout and suspended ridge structures. An extremely low power consumption of 0.40 mW / MZI and a high extinction ratio of more than 30 dB for TE polarisation were achieved.
