A highly sensitive method for electrochemical detection of daunorubicin (DNR) was proposed on the carbon nanotubes (CNT) modified electrode. The supramolecular interaction between the CNT and the anthracyclin could significantly enhance the electron transferability, which sharply increased the detection sensitivity and lowered the detection limit. Under the optimized conditions, the linear range of the DNR detection was 20-500 nM with a detection sensitivity of 5.9 nA/nM. The detection of the DNR in the serum samples was also attempted. It can be predicted that many more analogues could be monitored on such a platform with high sensitivity. (c) 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
