The hydrothermal reaction of Zn(OAc)(2) center dot 2H(2)O, H(3)btc, and 4-bpo affords a novel trinodal four-connected frl topology coordination polymer, [Zn-4(btc)(2)(4-bph)(H2O)(4)](n) center dot 2n(H2O) (4-bphH(2) is in situ synthesized) (1), which exhibits reversible two-step dehydration-rehydration.
