Chemical synthesis in nanosized cavities

This account briefly discusses methods of in-cavity synthesis with the main focus on molecularly imprinted polymers and selfassembled capsules. Discussed are examples that highlight recent progress and outline key challenges for the further development of in cavity synthesis. Emphasis is intentionally placed at potential applications in drug discovery and combinatorial technologies.
