The solvothermal reaction of Nd(NO3)(3)center dot 6H(2)O and 5-amino-2,4,6-triiodoisophthalic acid (H(2)atiip) in DMF/ethonal/H2O (5:2:1) in the presence of pyridine gave rise to a new open neodymium-organic framework having the NbO structure type, [Nd(HCOO)(atiip)(DMF)(2)]center dot DMF center dot H2O (1). Complex I can keep its diffraction pattern even after being heated to 200 degrees C.
