The synthesis and characterization of the novel asymmetric 1-(4-(tetrathiafulvaleneyl)phenyl)ethanone (TTF-PEO) toward the precursor For multifunctional material are described. The tuning of the charge-transfer of TTF-PEO by solvent was realized forming the mono- and dication complexes (TTF-PEO)(2)CuBr4 and (TTF-PEO)(2)(CuBr4)(2)center dot CH2Cl2 center dot(CH3CN in the triclinic P (1) over bar and the orthorhombic Pbca space group, respectively. The anti ferromagnetic behavior for the monocation radical TTF-PEO+center dot salt with CuBr42- displayed obvious phase transition at 110-120 K.
