NiCr/Cr3C2-WS2-CaF2 mixed powders were designed and aimed to fabricate high temperature self-lubricating wear-resistant composite coating by laser cladding. The friction and wear properties of the coating were investigated under different temperatures and loads against Si3N4 ceramic ball. Results show that friction coefficient decreases with the increasing temperature while the wear rate firstly decreases and then increases with the increasing temperature. Both the friction coefficient and wear rate firstly decreases and then slightly increases with the increasing normal load. The coating exhibits relatively excellent tribological behavior under moderate temperature and moderate normal load. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
