Analysis of isotropic, sandwich and laminated plates by a meshless method and various shear deformation theories

In this paper we use various shear deformation theories for modelling isotropic, sandwich and laminated plates discretized by a meshless method based on inverse multiquadric radial basis functions. The present results are compared with other available published results. The results show that the high accuracy of the inverse multiquadric radial basis functions method in the analysis of isotropic, sandwich and laminated plates. (C) 2009 Elsevier Ltd.
