Excitonic coupling interactions in the self-assembly of perylene-bridged bis(β-cyclodextrin)s and porphyrin

A supramolecular self-assembly has been constructed by perylene-bridged bis(beta-cyclodextrin)s with water-soluble porphyrin through hydrophobic interactions, showing strong excitonic coupling interactions between perylene backbones and included porphyrins.
