Self-assembly of peptide-based multi-colour gels triggered by up-conversion rare earth nanoparticles

UCNPs (NaYF(4)) were efficiently converted to a self-assembled network of a low molecular-weight gelator, thus reinforcing the gel structure and leading to the formation of hybrid multi-colour system through excitation by NIR light.
