Ammonium salts as an inexpensive and convenient nitrogen source in the Cu-catalyzed amination of aryl halides at room temperature

Convenient and inexpensive ammonium salts such as NH4Cl and aqueous NH3 solution are found to be readily utilized in the Cu-catalyzed room temperature N- arylation of aryl halides, providing N-unprotected aniline derivatives in high yields.
