Recent advances in lithium ion battery materials

Although a commercial success, lithium ion batteries are still the object of intense research mainly aimed to the characterization of improved electrode and electrolyte materials. The recent advances in carbonaceous and alternative anodes, in medium and high-voltage cathodes and in liquid and polymer electrolytes are here reviewed and discussed. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd.
