Calix[6] and [8]arene complexes of vanadium

The calixarenes tert-butylcalix[6]arene (H6L) and tert-butylcalix[8]arene (H8L') on treatment with [V(NBut)(OBut)(3)] and [V(Ntolyl-p)(OBut)(3)] respectively afford the novel metallocalix[6] and [8]arenes [{V(NBut)(thf)(0.39)((BuOH)-O-t)(0.61)}{VO(mu -O)}(2)L][(BuNH3)-N-t] (1) and [V-2(NR')(2)(H2L')] (2).
