A convenient method for synthesis of symmetrical acid anhydrides from carboxylic acids with trichloroacetonitrile and triphenylphosphine

Various carboxylic acids are converted into the corresponding carboxylic acid anhydrides treated with trichloroacetonitrile and trighenylphosphine in the presence of triethylamine at room temperature.
