Photoluminescent supramolecular polymers: metal-ion directed polymerization of terpyridine-functionalized perylene bisimide dyes

Perylene bisimide dyes bearing one and two 2,2':6',2-terpyridine receptor groups were prepared and the structural and optical properties of their Zn2+ complexes were investigated by H-1 NMR and fluorescence experiments.
