Quantitative formation and clean metal exchange processes of large void (> 5000 angstrom(3)) nanobox structures

The metallosupramolecular assembly of linear and macrocyclic bisphenanthrolines in the presence of Cu+ provides nanobox structures with internal volumes of > 5000 Angstrom(3) when the ligands are designed along the HETPHEN approach.
