Intersubband plasmon-polaritons in MQW structures and their manifestation in IR spectra

The properties of the radiative intersubband plasmon-polaritons in multiple quantum wells (MQWS) with normal and inverted subband occupation are discussed theoretically modeling of MQW by a uniform uniaxial effective medium. The characteristics of the modes of particular importance in determining the infrared spectra of dielectric-MQW-metal systems are emphasized. (C) 2002 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
