Regulatory T Cells Expressing PPAR-γ Control Inflammation in Obesity

A recent study (Cipolletta et al., 2012) shows that regulatory T (Treg) cells expressing the peroxisome-proliferator- activated receptor (PPAR-gamma) are engaged in suppressing adipose tissue inflammation in obesity, suggesting that Treg cells may be a target for treatment and prevention of adipose tissue inflammation and insulin resistance.
