A heterogeneous catalyst of Ir(I)-9-amino epicinchonine complex immobilized on the surface of mesoporous SBA-15 was firstly synthesized and used in the asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of aromatic ketones. Enhanced enantioselectivity compared with homogeneous catalyst was obtained at room temperature. Furthermore, the heterogeneous system with very low leaching of iridium can be easily regenerated.
