The acetone crude extract of Lobophora variegata did not show any alpha-amylase inhibition activity. On the contrary, acetone crude extract of both Spatoglossum schroederi and Caulerpa racemosa inhibited the enzyme activity, with an ED50 of 0.58 and 0.09 mg/ml. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V.
