Breakage of Yb(3+) pairs by Na(+) in Yb(3+)-doped CaF(2) laser host

Co-operative luminescence process has been used to prove, co-doping Yb(3+)-doped CaF(2) fluorite laser crystals with Na(+) charge compensator, would break the tendency of Yb(3+) ions pair formation.
