This paper presents a macroscopic model of cement grout flow in a porous medium, with special focus on the situation of radial flow filtration. The modeling is based on the mass balance equations of the different components present in the grouted medium, as well as on a general phenomenological filtration law. Closed-form solutions of these equations are derived in the particular situation of a linearized filtration law. This allows to evaluate the cement concentration of the grout and the porosity as functions of the radial coordinate and of time, as well as the extent of the zone actually reinforced by such a process. Besides, a numerical resolution of the model equations for more general filtration laws, is also presented. (c) 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
