Enantioselective hydroxylation of nitroalkenes: an organocatalytic approach

An easy hydroxylation of aliphatic nitroalkenes in high yields and enantioselectivities is catalysed by bifunctional thioureacinchona alkaloids giving access to optically active nitroalcohols and aminoalcohols as final products.
