Nanocrystalline ZnO-supported platinum nanoparticles were synthesized by introducing inorganic platinum salt into the pores of MOF-5 ([Zn4O(bdC)](3); We = 1,4-benzenedicarboxylate) followed by heating in air at 600 degrees C. The Pt particle sizes can be controlled by adjusting Pt precursor concentration. The resultant Pt/ZnO samples displayed higher catalytic activity for CO oxidation than conventional Pt/ZnO catalyst.
