Clinical supervision provided within the context of field placements plays a vital role in the training of clinical psychologists. Yet there are few studies evaluating clinical psychology trainees' perceptions of clinical supervision in such placements. Students' ratings (N = 212) of the supervision they received on the Supervision Checklist (Bernard & Goodyear, 1998) over a six-year period were used to evaluate what aspects of supervision lead supervisees (clinical psychology graduate students) to feel satisfied with the supervision received on field placements. The results support the use of the Supervision Checklist and indicate that Collaboration and Mutual Understanding'' was the best predictor of overall satisfaction with clinical supervision.
