Using microkinetic models to understand electrocatalytic reactions

Microkinetic models describing electrocatalytic reactions involving hydrogen and oxygen are discussed. In order to relate these models to experimental data, it is clear that the assumptions used in the models need to be rationalised, and in some cases the changes in local surface pH should be considered.
