Summary: A high-performance low-cost bioartificial muscle based on functional carboxylated bacterial cellulose and polypyrrole nanoparticles has been developed, demonstrating large bending strain, long actuated bending durability, broad frequency bandwidth, fast response time, high energy density, and high power density. Various bioinspired applications have been realized, offering a viable means for developing high-performance bioartificial muscles for next-generation soft bioelectronics.
