Microwave-assisted synthesis of dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones using graphite supported lanthanum chloride as a mild and efficient catalyst

Graphite supported lanthanum chloride efficiently catalyzes the three-component coupling of beta-ketoesters, aldehydes and urea/thiourea to afford corresponding dihydropyrimidinones in good yields under microwave irradiation. (C) 2007 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
