Improved Magnetic Guidance Approach for Automated Guided Vehicles by Error Analysis and Prior Knowledge

Shijian Su et al.

Summary: This study proposed an improved method based on error analysis and prior knowledge to enhance the localization accuracy of magnetic guidance approach for automated guided vehicles (AGVs). Combining factors affecting localization accuracy and optimizing variables, as well as utilizing prior knowledge to construct constraint conditions, significantly improved the global convergence probability and convergence speed of the magnetic guidance approach. Experimental results demonstrated the adaptability and robustness of the improved magnetic tracking approach, leading to improved parking accuracy of AGVs.

A Novel Wireless 5-D Electromagnetic Tracking System Based on Nine-Channel Sinusoidal Signals

Wanan Yang et al.

Summary: EMTSs are widely used in various fields such as medical instruments, virtual reality, and game control. The proposed novel EMTS separates the induction coils from the control unit, allowing for wireless pose tracking. By exciting the transmitting coils with nine-channel sinusoidal signals of different frequencies simultaneously, rather than switching channels in order, the system achieves five-degree-of-freedom tracking of the miniature induction coil. Experimental results show promising accuracy for potential medical and industrial applications, especially for magnetically controlled capsule robots.

Using CP/SMT Solvers for Scheduling and Routing of AGVs

Sarmad Riazi et al.

Summary: This article presents an improved method for solving conflict-free scheduling and routing of automated guided vehicles, with promising results. The method includes reformulating the mathematical model of the problem, improvements to an existing Benders decomposition method, and a new heuristic that quickly yields high-quality solutions. Additionally, a real-large-scale industrial instance is solved using open-source and commercial solvers, both of which effectively solve the proposed models.
