Fe-Curcumin Nanozyme-Mediated Reactive Oxygen Species Scavenging and Anti-Inflammation for Acute Lung Injury

Renyikun Yuan et al.

Summary: This study developed a strategy using Fe-Cur NPs as nanozymes to scavenge intracellular ROS and alleviate inflammation synergistically, thereby treat acute lung injury (ALI). The Fe-Cur NPs reduced levels of various inflammatory cytokines, inflammasomes, and signaling pathways, and demonstrated promising therapeutic efficiency in animal experiments. Fe-Cur NPs also effectively reduced macrophage cells and T cells, helping suppress the inflammation cytokine storm caused by ALI.

Reverse engineering Lewy bodies: how far have we come and how far can we go?

Mohamed Bilal Fares et al.

Summary: Lewy bodies (LBs) are important pathological features of Parkinson disease and other neurodegenerative diseases, with increasing evidence suggesting that the aggregation of alpha-synuclein plays a central role in LB formation. However, little is known about the mechanisms underlying LB formation, their biochemical and ultrastructural properties, evolution and spreading with disease progression, and their role in neurodegeneration.

Equipping Cancer Cell Membrane Vesicles with Functional DNA as a Targeted Vaccine for Cancer Immunotherapy

Bo Liu et al.

Summary: Researchers have designed a targeted nanovaccine that can induce DC maturation and trigger strong antitumor immune responses through assembly of functional DNA. Combining CMV-based nanovaccines with immune checkpoint blockade can improve therapeutic responses and generate long-term immune memory.

Trojan Horse Delivery of 4,4′-Dimethoxychalcone for Parkinsonian Neuroprotection

Wenlong Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, a Trojan horse system was used for targeted delivery of a blood brain barrier-penetrating peptide (RVG29) conjugated to nanoparticles loaded with the natural autophagy inducer 4,4 '-dimethoxychalcone (DMC) for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. The neuroprotective effects of DMC were demonstrated, showing improvement in motor deficits and nigral DA neuron death in PD mice without causing adverse effects. rvanism by using RVG-nDMC provides a potentially effective approach for intervention against Parkinson's disease.

Cytokine-scavenging nanodecoys reconstruct osteoclast/osteoblast balance toward the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis

Yang Zhou et al.

Summary: Nanodecoys capable of scavenging RANKL and TNF-alpha were developed from preosteoclast membrane-coated PLGA nanoparticles to inhibit osteoporosis and maintain bone integrity. These biomimetic nanodecoys effectively neutralized RANKL and TNF-alpha, preventing osteoclast formation and promoting osteoblast formation, thus reversing the progression of osteoporosis in the OVX mouse model.

Rational Design of Thermosensitive Hydrogel to Deliver Nanocrystals with Intranasal Administration for Brain Targeting in Parkinson's Disease

Yun Tan et al.

Summary: The research developed a drug delivery platform hydrogel (MAG-NCs@Gel) to improve drug solubility, nasal cavity residence time, and brain targeting efficiency. Continuous intranasal delivery enabled the drug to cross the BBB and enter dopaminergic neurons, effectively alleviating Parkinson's disease symptoms.

Delivering Antisense Oligonucleotides across the Blood-Brain Barrier by Tumor Cell-Derived Small Apoptotic Bodies

Yulian Wang et al.

Summary: The study explores the potential of using small apoptotic bodies from brain metastatic cancer cells as carriers for brain-targeted drug delivery, showing high delivery efficiency. By combining anti-TNF-alpha antisense oligonucleotide with sABs, successful enhancement of brain delivery efficiency is achieved. This research provides a new strategy for the treatment of brain diseases.
