3D Printed MXene Aerogels with Truly 3D Macrostructure and Highly Engineered Microstructure for Enhanced Electrical and Electrochemical Performance

Halil Tetik et al.

Summary: Combining unidirectional freeze casting with inkjet-based 3D printing, macroscopic porous aerogels with vertically aligned Ti3C2Tx sheets were fabricated, demonstrating excellent electromechanical performance and electrical conductivity. By adding an inkjet-printed MXene current collector layer with horizontally aligned MXene sheets and vertical MXene sheets as electrodes, the electrochemical performance of the cells showed thickness-independent capacitive behavior.

The formation of uniform graphene-polyaniline hybrids using a completely miscible cosolvent that have an excellent electrochemical performance

Mei-li Liu et al.

Summary: The electrochemical properties of graphene-PANI hybrids strongly depend on their microstructures and the distribution of PANI on the graphene network. In this study, a completely miscible cosolvent was developed to enable the mass production of graphene-PANI hybrid fibers with outstanding electrochemical properties. The use of this new solvent resulted in a homogeneous microstructure with uniformly distributed PANI nanoassemblies on the graphene sheets.

Reborn Three-Dimensional Graphene with Ultrahigh Volumetric Desalination Capacity

Yuanyuan Li et al.

Summary: The Phoenix Nirvana-like 3D graphene (NvG) designed with a repeated rebirth strategy exhibits superior performance upgrades in terms of density, porosity, electrical conductivity, mechanical strength, and fast infiltration behavior, making it ideal for capacitive deionization (CDI). As a CDI electrode, NvG shows extremely high volumetric capacity and salt absorption capacity, along with significantly lower power consumption compared to traditional 3D graphene (3DG). The overall performance enhancement achieved through this innovative manufacturing strategy is expected to drive the development of new carbon materials.
