Kinetic study of phenol hydroxylation by H2O2 in 3D Fe/SiC honeycomb monolithic reactors: Enabling the sustainable production of dihydroxybenzenes

Gonzalo Vega et al.

Summary: The study investigated the chemical kinetics of phenol hydroxylation to produce dihydroxybenzenes using a 3D printed monolithic reactor. The experiments showed that the hydroxylation reaction mechanism involved three elementary reactions, leading to the formation of dihydroxybenzenes with a selectivity above 99% at 80 degrees Celsius in Fe/SiC honeycomb monolithic reactors.

Effects of the internal structures of monolith ceramic substrates on thermal and hydraulic properties: additive manufacturing, numerical modelling and experimental testing

Nikolina Kovacev et al.

Summary: The study investigates the performance of diamond lattice structures manufactured using digital light processing technology compared to conventional honeycomb substrates. Numerical and experimental analysis showed an increase in axial temperature distribution and a significant decrease in pressure drop for the diamond lattice structures, indicating their potential for more effective thermal management and lower emissions.

Reinforced 3D Composite Structures of γ-, α-Al2O3 with Carbon Nanotubes and Reduced GO Ribbons Printed from Boehmite Gels

Cristina Ramirez et al.

Summary: Boehmite's ability to form printable inks has led to interest in manufacturing 3D alumina and composite structures through direct ink writing methods without the use of printing additives. These materials may exhibit high porosity due to printing and sintering procedures, depending on their intended application. Compression tests showed that carbon nanostructures, such as reduced graphene oxide ribbons, can significantly enhance the compressive strength of alumina structures.
